On the last weekend of May, we did a small trip on German cities (organised by AAA of TU Dresden). Only cost 30€ included one night on a hostel, dinner, breakfast and the travel by bus.

On Saturday we visited on Edfurf. City with three hundred one thousandth persons located in the middle of German, 150km from Dresden, is a student city, tourist interested in the eminence people stayed there in the past as Martin Luther, and with attractive Medieval Architecture.

The visit to the city was really hard because the temperature was more than 30 degrees during practically all the day. Although somebody in this trip come from countries where the weather is harder, in German with quickly-hight change of temperature is difficult to assimilate.

On Sunday visited Weimar which with less architectonic attractive for me, is famous for an important cultural life. In this city were Goethe, Schiller, Bach and Herder. But if something was interested for me in this place was the Buchenwald concentration camp located to 4km from Weimar.

This concentration camp wasn’t the worst camp. In the beginning was used for military forced work for political prisoners, Jews (who were subjected to extraordinarily cruel treatment) and homosexuals. I was surprised with the beautiful place was located this camp and the proximally 50 thousand victims were there, practically nothing if you compare with Auschwitz concentration camp where were 1.6 millions of victims.

El ultimo fin de semana de Mayo estuvimos de viaje por ciudades alemanas con la cortesía del AAA de la TU de Dresden que por solo 30€ teníamos alojamiento por un día, desplazamiento, cena y desayuno. El sábado estuvimos en Edfurt.

Ciudad de unos trescientos mil habitantes situado en el centro de Alemania a unos 150km de Dresden, es lugar de estudiantes, turistas interesados en las eminencias que por allí pasaron en el pasado como Martin Luther, y con atractiva arquitectura medieval.

La visita hubiera sido de lo mas atractiva sino fuese por los mas de 30º que soportamos durante prácticamente todo el día, que por mucho calor que tengamos algunos en nuestros países de origen (lo digo por los mediterráneos) cambios de temperatura tan bruscos son difícil de asimilar.

El domingo estuvimos en Weimar ciudad no tan atractiva arquitectónicamente (a gustos colores) pero de gran atractivo cultural, donde dejaron huella personalidades como Goethe, Schiller, Bach y Herder. Pero si algo tenía de atractivo para mi esa ciudad es que a tan solo 4km se halla el campo de concentración de Buchenwald, el cual el motivo real por el que quería ir a este viaje, ya que no quería volver de Alemania sin ver uno.

Este campo no fue ni mucho menos de los peores que hubo ya que inicialmente se utilizo para trabajos forzados para los opositores al régimen nazi, judíos, testigos de Jehová y homosexuales. Es increíble el contraste de la belleza del lugar situado en la colina de Ettersberg con la matanza de 50mil personas que el régimen nacional-socilista practicó. Nada comparado con los estimado 1.6 millones de personas que perecieron en Auschwitz.
